It has been sad news as we received tragic news of passing away of a Graduate from Makerere University Business School.

BEBE COOL, REMA AND DOUGLAS LWANGA SELECTED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE MTV YOUTUBE AFRICA BENEFIT CONCERT

Ugandan celebrities who include Rema Namakula,  Doulas Lwanga and bebe cool have been selected among the names in Africa to feature on MTV X YouTube Africa Day Benefit concert this month.

This programming event will be aimed at raising funds to help children and families in Africa that are affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The concert will raise funds and the funds will be donated to support food and health needs for those most impacted on the continent.
The concert will be hosted by Idris Elba and this will be aired on Monday, 25th May 2020 and will be a 2-hour streamed and broadcasted show on MTV Base and YouTube channels.

NBS TV presenter, Douglas Lwanga took it to his social media and shared the good news with his followers.
“Good news: I have been selected with Bebe Cool & Rema to make an appearance on the MTV X YouTube Africa Day Benefit concert hosted by Idris Elba showing on 25th May 2020 Live on MTVBase and YouTube. Make Sure You all tune in,” wrote Douglas.
The concert will also bring together other popular African personalities such as; Burna Boy, Diamond Platnumz, Angelique Kidjo, Fally Ipupa, Sauti Sol, AKA and many more.

NYTIL DISMISSES FAKE REPORTS MADE BY PRESS

 Nytil dismisses reports on company’s inability to produce face masks by June 2 which is the due date for their release.
Nyanza Textile Industry recieved a contract from the government to make masks for the citizens, has dismissed reports that they will not be able to produce the required masks by June 2 when the current lockdown is expected to end.

There was a document that was forged by the press and this document was highly denounced by the Managing Director Nytil Mr. Mubiru.
“The said document is an outright forgery and has been forwarded to Uganda Police for investigation with a view of apprehending the culprits involved in this for prosecution in line with law,” Mubiru said.
The documents which circulated on social media claimed Nytil’s machines had recently broken down.
He added that Nytil will endeavour to work closely with Ugandans and entities of good will so as to make their contribution towards availing masks under the guidance of National COVID19 task force
In his last address to the Nation, President Museveni promised partial lifting of the lockdown by 2nd June 2020.
Museveni warned that during this period everyone will be required to have a mask and that government will be undertaking a nationwide distribution of masks.
These masks will be distributed free of charge at Local council 1 level to all Ugandans above 6 years of age.

PRESIDENT YOWERI TO ADDRESS NATION AGAIN

HE Yoweri Kaguta Museveni To Address Nation again today in order to clarify on matters that arose due to his controversial speech that happened on Monday 18th May, 2020 that has cause alot of confusion amongst citizens in Uganda.

He will be addressing the nation today at 8pm to eliminate all the misunderstandings that the public are having currently with private drivers being refused to access movement though HE said they would be allowed to move as per the speech yesterday.

WINNIE NWAGI TAKES MEDIA TO FIRE BACK TO ANGRY FANS

Swangz Avenue’s musician known as Winnie Nwagi took media to reply to her biased fans who were not satisfied with her life style.

While appearing in one of her Instagram posts, the ‘Jangu’ singer Winnie Nwagi shared a video while dancing in a short romantic night wear besides the chair something that was not liked by many fans.
Winnie first of all according to fans claim that she has a bigger body and when she danced around a chair, it seemed to tame viewers especially married men and others believe that she was influenced by the power of drugs.

 The Biased fan said, “You are a mother. Why do you embarrass your child? I think you’re failure to complete school is affecting you. I am your fan but you need to do things that fit your age” One of the fans said.
However, to her reply, Nwagi repl ied asking different people to  un-follow her if they don’t like what she does.

HIGH COURT ALLOWS BOBI WINE TO MAKE CONCERTS

The High Court of Kampala has nullified Uganda Police orders of stopping singer Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine from staging concerts.
In the ruling by Justice Esta Nambayo, the orders of stopping of the events managers Bajjo and Abitex promotions from organising the Kyarenga Extra concerts which were to be held at One Love Beach Busabaala, Lira, Gulu and Arua “are illegal”.
The two events promoters run to court and sued the Inspector General of Police and Attorney General for stopping Bobi’s events which led to a lose of over Shs200 Million Shillings.

In some instances, police though teargas canisters at revellers who had turned up for the events and scores were arrested.
In their suit, Bajjo and Abitex claim that they requested for security from police but in vain. Instead the IGP on the 19th April, 2019 issued a directive suspending all concerts by Bobi Wine.
The respondents in the case have been also ordered to pay costs.

FLOODS DISPLACE FAMILIES IN NTOROKO DISTRICT

A new wave of floods has hit Ntoroko district in South West of Mt. Rwenzori region.

Uganda Red Cross Society said Wednesday that the floods left most houses and latrines submerged in water.
 The rising water levels at Lake Albert in Ntoroko district, over 3,000 families have been left homeless after their houses were submerged and this seems to be a worrying number of the population being displaced.

The Lake Victoria and Albert continue to roar as the volumes of water increase due to heavy rains falling in Uganda.
Pregnant women in parishes of Rwangara, Kamuga, Katanga and Kachwankumu in Kanara Sub-County that have been badly affected by the floods can no longer access antenatal care due to flooded roads.
“We dispatched a team to support the affected families,” Red Cross said.
“Our assessment team recorded a number of health risks,” Red Cross said at the same time it was managing floods affected communities in Kasese and Bundibugyo.

Today MUBS Guild Aspirant Julia Muhumuza has been seen in areas of Hotels giving out relief to the MUBS STUDENTS that stayed back in their hostels. It has really been a good venture because she has been the first aspirant to hear the voices of the unheard. Due to the current situation in the country of trying to fight off Covid-19, very many classes of people have been neglected but she devized means to see that she gives a helping hand.
The people have really appreciated and welcomed her as their own. 
She emphasized on washing of hands to eliminate the virus and social distancing.
